Life is a Game

Life is a Game

How would your life be if you accepted, even just for a moment, that everything is a great game? That you are the main actor or actress with the power to embody and create whatever you wish in this play called existence.

After so many years accompanying people in their personal development, I have seen again and again how the script of life seems to be written in a mistaken way. From education at home to the school system, there are abuses of all kinds, conditioning that suffocates authenticity, unnecessary detours for our children that disconnect them from what is essential. This is how neurotic patterns are born, how the personality is slowly and subtly fragmented, leaving deep scars. And the saddest part: most adults are not aware of this separation from life, vitality, joy, union, and health. The great Being, pure and luminous at birth, ends up broken into a puzzle corrupted by social norms, religion, education, competition, greed.

Of course, it is not easy to see life as a game when someone is going through illness, conflicts with parents or partners, struggles with sexuality, work, or health. From the wound, life does not look like a board to play on but rather a battlefield where one feels like a victim. In the search for quick relief, it is common to escape into pills, distractions, alcohol, drugs, or shopping.

But there comes a moment, if we allow ourselves to heal the essential wounds, when something changes. Pain transforms into mastery, the wound becomes a doorway, and one begins to feel more wholeness, more health, more presence. That is when we realize that life is designed as a jungle of infinite possibilities, an adventure to be explored. And yes: life is a great adventure/game.

With these words, I want to encourage you to dream again, to the beautiful, the grand, the inexplicable, the artistic, the divine. As great poets and sages like Yogananda used to say: we carry everything within us to feel the divine in our hearts. Being in union with the Whole, the Source, the subtle, gives us the strength and joy to manifest our dreams with greater ease.

Remember that every life has its stages and karmic moments. Everything unfolds with its own synchronicity: the beautiful and the painful, the light and the dense, the abundance and the lack. Every contrast reveals our greatest teachers.

Now I invite you to pause for a moment. Reflect on your life and ask yourself: what role do I want to play on this great stage? Imagine you are the director of the movie and you are searching for the lead actor or actress. That role is yours. Decide how to speak, how to dress, how to walk, how to think, how to act, how to shine. Stop watching the screen of others and step into being the protagonist of your own story.

Pretty cool, right?

I would love to know which role you choose for your life. Will you share it with me? Write to me at info@alex-kroll.com. I’ll be glad to read you.

FAQ

Seeing life as a game means approaching existence with a sense of openness, creativity, and possibility rather than rigidity or fear. It does not mean ignoring pain or responsibility, but relating to life with greater flexibility and perspective. When you see life as a game, challenges become opportunities to grow, learn, and evolve, allowing you to engage more consciously instead of feeling trapped by circumstances.

Many people feel disconnected from joy and authenticity due to early conditioning, emotional wounds, and social expectations that shape their identity over time. Experiences in childhood, education, and relationships can create patterns of fear, suppression, and adaptation. As a result, individuals lose touch with their natural vitality and inner truth. Without awareness, this disconnection becomes normalized, leading to a life lived more from habit than from genuine expression.

Healing emotional wounds allows you to shift from a reactive and limited perception of life to a more open and empowered one. As unresolved pain is processed, emotional patterns lose their intensity, and new possibilities emerge. What once felt like a burden can transform into insight and strength. This change in perspective enables you to experience life with greater clarity, resilience, and a deeper sense of meaning and connection.

Becoming the protagonist of your life begins with conscious choice and self-responsibility. It means recognizing that, while you cannot control everything that happens, you can choose how you respond, think, and act. By clarifying your values, healing your past, setting direction, and aligning your actions with your inner certainty, you gradually step out of passive roles. Over time, this creates a sense of authorship, purpose, and active participation in your own life journey.

People often feel like victims because unresolved emotional pain, past experiences, and subconscious beliefs shape how they perceive reality. When these patterns are not addressed, life can feel overwhelming and predetermined. This perception reduces a sense of agency and reinforces helplessness. Through awareness and inner work, these patterns can be transformed, allowing individuals to reclaim their capacity to respond consciously and actively shape their experience.

Life is shaped by both circumstances and personal choices. While external events and past experiences influence your path, your awareness and response play a crucial role in how your life unfolds. As you develop greater consciousness, you gain more freedom in how you interpret and engage with situations. This shift does not eliminate challenges, but it expands your capacity to navigate life with intention, creativity, and resilience.
